She was reportedly rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband Parag Tyagi and close friends but was declared dead on arrival. Shefali, 42, catapulted to fame in the early 2000s with the electrifying success of Kaanta Laga, a remix that redefined the indie pop music video scene in India. She was taken to the hospital yesterday, June 27, 2025. With her daring wardrobe, confident gaze, and bold dance moves, she became a household name almost overnight, often referred to as “The Kaanta Laga Girl.” She embodied a new wave of confidence and individuality that the music video era was just beginning to explore.


Rather than chase the limelight like many of her contemporaries, Shefali chose a more measured journey in the entertainment industry. She featured in a memorable supporting role in the 2004 comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
