Police dismiss charges due to lack of evidence

Meanwhile, on July 2 (KST), the Seoul Gangnam Police Station officially dismissed the case against Ju Haknyeon for alleged illegal prostitution solicitation, citing "insufficient grounds" for prosecution.

In response to the controversy and media coverage, Ju Haknyeon took to Instagram Stories to announce that he has filed a ₩1 billion KRW (approximately $740,000 USD) defamation lawsuit against reporter Choi Ji Hye of Tenasia, the outlet that originally accused him. He wrote, "A news article full of lies meant to ruin someone's life. And for what? Tell me the truth in court."
