Rapper JT to contribute to funeral costs following Girlalala's death

The 32-year-old American rapper contributed $5000 toward the funeral expenses of TikTok creator Girlalala, whose death has left the South Florida community reeling, as per TMZ. On the other hand, the authorities have reported that the fatal incident occurred on Friday evening in Lauderdale Lakes after an argument between Girlalala and her long-term boyfriend reportedly escalated.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office stated that officers found Girlalala in the front seat of a car, struck multiple times by gunfire. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically did not survive.

Police have identified her boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr, as the primary suspect; a firearm was recovered at the scene, and he was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Who is rapper JT?

Jatavia Shakara Johnson, also popularly known as JT, first gained prominence as one half of the Miami-based hip-hop duo City Girls, which she formed with Yung Miami in 2017. Moreover, the pair earned widespread recognition with hits like Act Up and Twerk featuring Cardi B.

Building on that success, JT launched her solo career in 2023, releasing the mixtape City Cinderella and singles including Okay and Ran Out, showcasing her distinct style and fearless approach to rap.
