Superman box office collection day 6: James Gunn’s film witnesses a drop of 28%, earns Rs 2.15 crore in India

Superman box office collection day 6: James Gunn’s Superman earned Rs 2.15 crore on its sixth day in India. The figure is lower than the Rs 3 crore it earned on July 15. The total collection is around Rs 34 crore
Superman box office collection day 6: Superman, directed by James Gunn, hit the screens on July 11 and opened to a good response at the Indian box office. It earned nearly 7 crore (nett) on the first day. The film then packed a punch on the weekend before witnessing a drop on weekdays. It continued its run on July 16.
The James Gunn-directed Superman made a decent impact at the domestic box office on Wednesday despite witnessing a drop. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, it earned Rs 2.15 crore in India on the sixth day. This figure is nearly 28% lower than the Rs 3 crore it made on July 15.
Superman’s English version had an overall occupancy of 10% on the sixth day. The occupancy was around 6% in the morning. It rose to 10.31% in the afternoon. The evening and night shows had occupancies of 10.24% and 13.17%, respectively.
It recorded its best overall occupancy in Chennai (18.3%) and Mumbai (12%). However, the film stayed relatively low in markets such as Kochi (7.50%) and Kolkata (7.75%).
Similarly, the Hindi and Tamil versions had an overall occupancy of ~7% and ~12%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the film’s total worldwide gross stands at $ 314.5 million. It has been shot on a budget of $225 million.

The Times of India gave it a rating of 3.5/5 and described it as ‘ entertaining and enjoyable’.
“Superman is entertaining, enjoyable, even epic but never intense. James Gunn’s non-origin story soars high visually but stays limited emotionally. The director’s unyielding need to go traditional comes at a cost. It is still a tremendous cinematic experience that deserves to be watched in IMAX,”read a portion of the review.
