‘Sometimes I wonder if there's something between me and her’: When Prabhas spoke about linkup rumours with Anushka Shetty

Prabhas is one of the biggest names in the film industry today. The mass hero emerged as the ‘Darling’ of the pan-India audience with his work in the Baahubali saga. During his career, he has often been linked to Anushka Shetty. The ‘Lady Superstar’ worked with him in the Baahubali saga, Mirchi (2013) and Billa (2009). In 2017, Prabhas opened up about these rumours and clarified that they are friends, not lovers.


Rumours of Prabhas and Anushka being in a relationship have been doing the rounds for many years. They refuse to fade even though both actors have maintained that they are not in a relationship. In 2017, Prabhas discussed the impact of these rumours on his personal life. The star said that the rumours have persisted so long that sometimes even he wonders if there is something between them.


“We are very good friends. We have known each other for years but I admit sometimes when such stories start doing the rounds, then I too start wondering if there is, indeed, something between us. We know that we are not romantically involved,” he told Navbharat Times

Prabhas further added that it is common for actors to be linked together if they work together more than once. The actor also emphasised that he and Anushka have pledged to never let such gossip get in the way of their friendship. Prabhas and Anushka's alleged affair captured the fancy of the national media during the promotions of Baahubali 2. The period drama featured Prabhas as the titular man of the masses. Anushka played his wife Devasena, a warrior princess.


Coming back to the present, Prabhas is gearing up for the release of The Raja Saab. The horror comedy is set to release in December. It will be his first full-fledged role in a feature film after Kalki 2898 AD, which emerged as a blockbuster Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is said to feature high production values and lively comedy. It marks a departure from Prabhas’ recent intense roles. It features Sanjay Dutt in a key role.Prabhas also has Spirit, directed by Sandeep Vanga, in his kitty. The action drama features Animal star Triptii Dimri as the leading lady and will go on the floors soon.

Anushka, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of the Ghaati. The intense thriller delves into the dark and gripping world of crime and survival in a remote region. It also features Vikram Prabhu in a key role.
