Manny Jacinto channels Freakier Friday energy, wants to body swap with K-pop giants BTS

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis headlined the spectacular international premiere of Freakier on Friday at Los Angeles' landmark El Capitan Theatre. The team reunited for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 smash Freaky Friday, which featured a glittering cast of superstars like Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and more. Despite the red carpet excitement, one unexpected moment sent K-pop fans, particularly ARMY, into a frenzy.



While fielding questions, Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto was asked who he would swap lives with if given the chance - fittingly, given the body-switching premise of Freakier Friday.
Without hesitation, Jacinto declared, "The only ones I can think of are BTS. I was a dancer - keyword is was - and I would love to know what it feels like, just for a day, to be on stage like that."


For a film centered around wild identity swaps and unexpected second chances, Jacinto's heartfelt K-pop admiration couldn't have been more on brand - and the fans felt it. It wasn't just a throwaway comment.

Jacinto and his fiancée, actress Dianne Doan, attended BTS rapper J-Hope's Hope on the Street concert in Los Angeles, with Dianne sharing on Instagram that it was her "first ARMY experience - and it was perfect."



Jacinto is set to bring the celebration home as he heads to Manila for the Philippine premiere of Disney's Freakier Friday. In the new film, Jacinto plays Eric Reyes, a charming chef and single father who catches the eye of Lohan's character, Anna.


Born to Filipino parents, Lito and Emy Jacinto, and raised in Vancouver, Manny has become one of Hollywood's most notable Filipino talents. He rose to fame playing the lovable Jason Mendoza in the critically acclaimed comedy The Good Place, and most recently turned heads as the antagonist in the Star Wars Disney+ series The Acolyte.

With red carpet flair, hometown pride, and a dash of BTS love, Manny Jacinto is giving fans plenty to cheer for this Freakier Friday.
