Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle: Can Mist Hashira Muichiro beat Upper Rank One Kokushibo? The anime film reveals who’s stronger

Demon Slayer fans are counting days for the Infinity Castle movie where one battle has everyone talking. Although the film was released in Japan on July 18, 2025, fans around the world have been waiting to witness their favourite characters go against each other in this epic arc. The movie is set to release on September 12, 2025, in the United States and selected markets of Asia.

Infinity Castle arc is one of the most popular arcs of Demon Slayer manga, and one fight that stands out among all is Mist Hashira Muichiro and Upper Rank One Kukokushibo. This fight between the Upper Rank One and the Mist Hashira will finally reveal who is stronger. For Muichiro this is his biggest challenge that could define his legacy or end it.


Muichiro Tokito became a Hashira in just two months after picking up a sword. That alone makes him one of the most gifted swordsmen in Demon Slayer Corps history. His potential grew even more when he awakened the Demon Slayer Mark making him faster, stronger and sharper in combat.



He already defeated Upper Moon Five Gyokko all by himself. That was no small feat especially for someone so young. But Kokushibo is a whole different danger. The Upper Rank One is leagues above any Demons Muichiro has faced before.


Kokushibo was once a human swordsman before he turned into a demon centuries ago during the Sengoku era. Over time he became Muzan Kibutsuji's strongest and most trusted warrior. His swordsmanship is unmatched and refined over hundreds of years.


Kokushibo can use breathing techniques just like the Hashira and even the Transparent World allowing him to predict his enemy’s moves. Add to that his Blood Demon Art and incredible speed and he becomes nearly unstoppable. Against such a foe Muichiro will need more than talent to survive.


The Infinity Castle movie will bring this epic showdown to life. According to the manga Muichiro is the first to cross paths with Kokushibo inside the castle. His Demon Slayer Mark gives him a fighting chance but even that might not be enough against Kokushibo's experience and deadly abilities


Muichiro will have to push his swordsmanship beyond its limits to stand any chance. Fans have seen him surprised before but this is his ultimate test. Can the Mist Hashira survive or is Kokushibo just too powerful?
