After months of speculation and leaks, EA finally confirmed the Battlefield 6 open beta, marking its first drop in the public. Finally, fans and players waiting long for the game will get the opportunity to try their hands on the highly anticipated shooter.

According to the Game Fragger, an official post has been issued from the Battlefield X (formerly called Twitter) account, suggesting that the upcoming open beta will include both the traditional class-locked weapons and the controversial open weapon system will be introduced in the upcoming title.

Moreover, this hybrid model looks like EA's response to long-running community debates over the game's core identity and whether the franchise should go back to its original expertise or forge ahead with modern trials.


According to Game Rant, the Open Beta era of Battlefield 6's playtesting is expected to start around early August. Along with the upcoming title, the release is also seeing a huge amount of potential praise and criticism.

The exact date hasn't been confirmed yet, but fans have uncovered the API data suggesting the Battlefield 6 open beta could begin as soon as August 4th. The date lines up with earlier EA betas, which usually used to last between 3 and 10 days and allow for preloads that were roughly around 24 hours ahead of the launch.



As per the Game Fragger report, apart from the expected date, a separate leak has also pointed to a July 29 worldwide reveal and official announcement, which is likely going to be EA's upcoming three-day event.

This event could also finally confirm the name Battlefield 6 that was leaked through a promotional package. On the other hand, one of the most polarising changes in the recent Battlefield titles has been the shift towards the open weapon systems, allowing any class to use any weapon.
