"The success of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s eight-year tenure can be determined by the success of the biggest global gathering of humans at one place," Singh stated. He highlighted the event's scale, noting, "As many as 66 crore people from across the globe visited the Maha Kumbh"
Uttar Pradesh's Jal Shakti Minister, Swatantra Dev Singh, asserted on Friday that the recently concluded Maha Kumbh 2025 at Prayagraj served as a global success and a testament to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's eight-year tenure.
"The Maha Kumbh was a big success globally. In fact, the success of chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s eight-year tenure can be determined by the success of the biggest global gathering of humans at one place," Singh stated during a felicitation ceremony for department employees.
He highlighted the event's scale, noting, "As many as 66 crore people from across the globe visited the Maha Kumbh and everyone was awed by the seamless management and services extended to them. The fact that not one case of crime was reported at the event speaks volumes about the rule of law in the state under chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership."
The minister and Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Srivastava recognized 112 employees from the Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department for their contributions to the "Swachh Sujal Gaon" exhibition, which showcased the impact of the Jal Jeevan Mission in rural Uttar Pradesh.
Singh praised the exhibition, stating, "The various initiatives of the department were brilliantly showcased." He also commended the employees for their assistance to devotees, describing their efforts as "praiseworthy."
Regarding the Jal Jeevan Mission, Singh said, "In rural areas, water supply is being provided to every household through the Nal se Jal Yojana," highlighting the transformation in regions like Bundelkhand and Vindhya.
Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Srivastava attributed the exhibition's success to the employees' hard work, saying, "The exhibition drew attention and applause from one and all at the Maha Kumbh."
Information Commissioner P.N. Dwivedi noted, "The exhibition featured symbols that became synonymous with the Mahakumbh area, including the iconic 'Matke Wala Chauraha.' He said the exhibition reflected the essence of the Kumbh, showcasing the transformation of rural UP through the Jal Jeevan Mission.”
Jal Samadhan Portal Launched
Separately, Minister Swatantra Dev Singh launched the Jal Samadhan Portal, designed to streamline water connection applications and complaint registration.
"Through the portal people will be able to apply for water connections easily. He said people would also be able to register complaints related to water supply. Additionally, people will also be able to track the entire process of their water supply-related complaints," Singh said.
The portal is accessible at Jalsamadhan.in, and a toll-free number, 180012121614, along with an Android app, has been launched. A coffee table book highlighting the Jal Jeevan Mission's work was also released.
