Haryana yoga teacher buried alive over alleged relationship with landlord's wife

In a shocking incident, two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man who had been missing for nearly three months. The body of Jagdeep, a yoga teacher at Baba Mastnath University in Rohtak, was recovered from a pit in Charkhi Dadri on Monday, three months after he went missing.


Two people, Hardeep, the owner of the rented accommodation in Janata Colony where Jagdeep had lived for three years, and his accomplice Dharampal, were arrested in connection with the murder.


According to the police, Hardeep orchestrated the murder of Jagdeep, suspecting him of having an affair with his wife.


The 45-year-old Jagdeep, a native of Jhajjar district, was living in rented accommodation owned by Hardeep's in-laws in Pentaawas Kalan, and his wife, who used to visit frequently, allegedly developed a relationship with the victim.

Hardeep came to know about his wife's alleged affair with Jagdeep after seeing a photo of them on her phone.

Angered by this, the main accused, with the help of some friends, abducted Jagdeep and murdered him by burying him alive in a seven-foot-deep pit.


According to the police, Jagdeep was abducted on December 24 by the accused, who tied up his hands and legs and dumped him in a pit in Pantavas village of Charkhi Dadri before covering it up. The accused had also taped his mouth to make sure that he couldn't cry for help. The suspect allegedly got the seven-foot-deep pit dug, claiming that it was for a borewell.



Though Jagdeep was abducted and murdered on December 24, the police started looking for him only in late January after a relative filed a missing person's complaint at Shivaji Colony Police Station.

During the initial investigation, the police failed to make any headway, and the first breakthrough came after CCTV visuals from near Jagdeep's rented accommodation showed him being abducted.

Based on data, including Jagdeep's call records, police zeroed in on Hardeep and Dharampal through him.

During the interrogation, the accused admitted to the murder, and on Monday, exactly three months after Jagdeep was killed, his body was exhumed from the pit.


According to the police, at least two more people are involved in the crime, and efforts are on to arrest them.
