How UP plans to become $1 trillion economy in just 5 years: Rs 15 lakh crore projects on ground, Rs 5 Lakh crore in pipeline

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2029-30. Speaking in New Delhi, he shared details of a 12-sector Vision 2047 plan based on 98 lakh public suggestions and highlighted massive investment growth in the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that the state is on track to become $1 trillion economy by year 2029-30. He said this while speaking at a conclave organised by a private newspaper in New Delhi on December 6. The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh will play the most important role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Vision 2047 for a Developed India.

CM Yogi said that India's target of becoming a $5 trillion economy by 2027 and a $30 trillion economy by 2047 can be achieved only if states move ahead with the same speed and determination. He said Uttar Pradesh, being the most populated state, has a special responsibility in this national mission.

Vision 2047 document based on 98 lakh public suggestions

The Chief Minister said the Uttar Pradesh government has prepared a Vision 2047 document after wide discussions and public participation. The Vision Document is based on 98 lakh suggestions received from citizens. It covers 12 major sectors of the state. Public representatives and common people both took part in preparing it. A 27-hour continuous discussion was held in the state assembly with participation from all political parties. Clear targets are now being fixed for each sector based on these suggestions.

He added the current economic progress of Uttar Pradesh is very encouraging. He said that the state will fulfil the goals of 'Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh' and 'Self-Reliant India, Self-Reliant Uttar Pradesh'.

Highlighting the change in investor confidence, the Chief Minister said that earlier many entrepreneurs hesitated to invest in UP due to a negative image of the state. He said the government assured industries that they would see a new Uttar Pradesh, and the results are now visible.



Rs 45 Lakh crore investment proposals received so far

CM Yogi shared major investment figures:

  • Rs 2.5 lakh crore proposals during road shows
  • Rs 4.75 lakh crore proposals in the first Investors' Summit
  • Rs 40 lakh crore proposals in the third Investors' Summit in 2023
So far, Uttar Pradesh has received Rs 45 lakh crore in total investment proposals, out of which:

  • Rs 15 lakh crore projects are already on the ground
  • Production has started in these projects
  • Next ground-breaking ceremony soon
The CM also said that projects worth Rs 5 lakh crore are currently in the pipeline. The date of the next ground-breaking ceremony is being finalised. He called the investment success a new milestone for Uttar Pradesh and said the double-engine government has taken industrial growth in the state to new heights.
