An agricultural 'Krishi Chaupal' was held in Akkhapur village, Hapur where 450 farmers discussed how government policies have improved their lives. Farmers praised better law and order, uninterrupted power supply as well as Rs 30 per quintal increase in sugarcane prices. More chaupals will be held in other districts.
A Krishi Chaupal (agricultural meeting) was organised on Saturday in Akkhapur village of Hapur district. Around 450 farmers participated in the programme. The chaupal was fully organised by farmers and only farmers took part in it. They gathered in the fields and openly shared their experiences.
During the discussion, farmers said their lives have improved due to government decisions. They claimed that crop theft and the role of middlemen have reduced. Farmers said they are now getting proper prices for their produce and regular work opportunities.
Farmers said that uninterrupted electricity has played a major role in improving farming. They added that for the last eight to nine years, power supply has been equal in all districts, ending past discrimination. This has helped farmers save time, money and effort.
Farmers also praised the law and order situation after 2017. They said crime has reduced and many criminals have either left crime or moved out of the state. Because of this, people now feel safer in villages.
The Uttar Pradesh government has increased the sugarcane price by Rs 30 per quintal for 2025-26 crushing season.
Farmers said the sugarcane price hike will help poor farmers become financially stronger. They thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for supporting farmers and improving their income.
