Akshay Kumar's birthday wish for Priyadarshan from Bhooth Bangla set leaves fans excited

Actor Akshay Kumar wished filmmaker Priyadarshan a happy 68th birthday today. The two have reunited after 14 years apart for their next horror-comedy flick Bhooth Bangla. On the important occasion, Akshay posted a photo of the two on social media, along with a touching message.



“Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts...both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead (sic),” Akshay’s note on X read.

The image of the two is from the sets of Bhooth Bangla. Akshay and Priyadarshan had worked on many hit projects before. The duo produced some of the most beloved films of all time. They have collaborated on several hits, including Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and others.


Fans quickly noticed the caption of the image hints at Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla and many fans were left excited for the movie. Here's how fans reacted.






In addition to Akshay, Tabu will play a crucial part in the film. Priyadarshan directs Bhooth Bangla, which is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar's production business, Cape of Good Films.

Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali co-produced the film. The script is by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, while the story is penned by Akash A Kaushik. The dialogues are written by Rohan Shankar.

Recently, as per online reports, Mithila Palkar has also joined the cast.


Bhooth Bangla is set to open in theatres on April 2, 2026.
