UK's young professionals scheme for Indians reopens: Step-by-step guide to apply

The UK has reopened the Young Professionals Scheme for Indians, allowing eligible candidates aged 18 to 30 to apply for a two-year visa. The final ballot for 2025 is now live and offers a chance to live and work in the UK under the youth mobility partnership.
This is part of the UK and India's youth mobility partnership. It gives young Indians who meet certain requirements a great chance to travel and work in other countries.
What does the program for young professionals do?
The India Young Professionals Scheme is an agreement between India and the UK that lets Indian citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 can live, work, or study in the UK for up to two years.
This program has opened up 3,000 visa slots for 2025. In the February 2025 ballot, most of these spots were filled, but there are still a few spots open for this July election.
Who Can Apply: Requirements to Be Eligible
To be eligible for the Young Professionals Scheme, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an Indian citizen between the ages of 18 and 30
- Have a bachelor's degree or higher (UK RQF Level 6 or higher, or an equivalent degree from another country).
- Before you apply, make sure you have at least £2,530 in your own savings that you have kept for 28 days.
- Not allowed to have any kids under 18 living with them or depending on them for money
- You can't have had a Youth Mobility Scheme visa or an India Young Professionals Scheme visa before.
- Only people who meet all the requirements should be able to apply.
How to Apply: A Guide with Steps Step One: Enter the Ballot
To apply under the India Young Professionals Scheme, the first step is to enter the online ballot. The following details are required:
- Full name and date of birth
- Passport details (including a scanned copy or photo)
- Phone number and email address
- Entering the ballot is completely free of charge
Step 2: Wait for the Results
- The ballot is random, and successful entries will be selected through a lottery system.
- Results will be shared via email within two weeks after the ballot closes.
- Unfortunately, you can't appeal if you weren't chosen.
Step 3: Get the visa.
If chosen, applicants will have to:
- Send in a formal visa application within 90 days.
- You need to pay £319 for a visa.
- Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
- Provide biometric data, such as a photo and fingerprints.

- The registration started on July 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM IST.
- You can register until July 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM IST.
- Visa Application Due Date: 90 days after being selected
