Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recently addressed speculation about introducing an “Ozempic tasting menu” designed for people on weight-loss drugs. The rumour quickly caught the attention of social media users, sparking heated debates about diet culture, wellness trends, and how the restaurant industry might adapt to the growing popularity of medications like Ozempic. As the discussion gained momentum online, Ramsay decided to step in and clarify the truth behind the viral claims, putting an end to the speculation surrounding his alleged new menu.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was asked if he planned to modify his restaurant menus to cater to diners using weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic or Mounjaro. Ramsay shut down the rumors in his signature fiery tone, calling the idea “absolute nonsense” and asserting that there was “no way” he would ever introduce such a menu. He bluntly added that the real issue lies with people “for eating too much in the first place.”
The Hell’s Kitchen star went on to reject the notion of an “Ozempic tasting menu,” saying he wouldn’t design something to make diners “feel better about overeating by 10:30 in the evening.” Ramsay instead emphasized the importance of self-discipline and maintaining balance, admitting that as he’s grown older, he has learned to prioritize moderation to prevent the demanding nature of his career from becoming overwhelming.
Ozempic (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) are injectable prescription drugs initially created to manage type 2 diabetes but have recently gained massive popularity for their weight-loss benefits. Ozempic mimics a natural hormone that helps control blood sugar levels while curbing appetite and slowing digestion, which makes users feel fuller for longer. Mounjaro works on two hormone pathways, GLP-1 and GIP, to improve insulin response, lower blood sugar, and suppress hunger. While Ozempic is approved for diabetes and heart health, Mounjaro has been cleared in some regions for both diabetes and weight management.
The surge in popularity of these drugs has fueled a global conversation around medical weight loss, often referred to as the “Ozempic effect.” Many see them as groundbreaking alternatives to traditional dieting, but health experts warn that they are not miracle solutions. Both medications come with side effects like nausea and fatigue and must be used alongside proper diet, exercise, and medical supervision. As research continues, doctors emphasize the importance of responsible use and long-term monitoring to ensure safe and effective results.
