South Korean Olympic shooter Kim Yeji, known for her stylish assassin-like appearance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has landed her first acting role as an assassin in the spinoff series "Crush" alongside Indian actor Anushka Sen.
South Korean pistol shooter Kim Yeji has scored her first acting job, playing an assassin. Kim will play an assassin in "Crush," a spinoff series of the worldwide film project "Asia," a representative of Seoul-based entertainment company Asia Lab told AFP on Friday.
Kim Yeji became an online celebrity at the Paris Olympics due to her distinct style and chilly demeanour, which have garnered her parallels to figures such as James Bond.
The 32-year-old won a silver medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Summer Olympics, but it was images of her dressed like a sophisticated assassin in a black tracksuit and baseball cap that helped her garner public notice.
What did
In fact, Elon Musk requested that the South Korean shooter be cast in a film after videos of her shooting went viral during the Olympics.
“She should be cast in an action movie. No acting required!” Musk wrote on X at the time.
Kim Yeji will play an assassin in Crush, alongside Indian actor and influencer Anushka Sen. Sen made the news on Instagram last week, releasing a video of herself clothed in black leather and straining with a pistol before Kim enters and adjusts her stance.
