According to Collins, her children were simply being playful after a meal, joking around and mimicking her belly. She explained that her kids were fascinated by her stomach and began squishing it like a Squishmallow. Her intention, she stressed, was to document a lighthearted family moment, not exploit her grief.

Collins also noted that her four-year-old may have hit her a little too hard in the clip, prompting her to say "ow," but clarified that she was not hurt and that nothing inside her was harmed.
