Fox News anchor Jacqui Heinrich got engaged to GOP Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick during a romantic getaway to Valensole, France on June 29. Brian knew that experiencing the wonders of France was on Jacqui's bucket list, and so he made her dream come true.
Fox News personality Jacqui Heinrich was engaged to Republican politician Brian Fitzpatrick on June 29 while the couple were on a romantic getaway in France. When recounting her story to People magazine, Jacqui was overjoyed, saying “it felt like a fairy tale”.

Fitzpatrick got his idea for the proposal after Jacqui gave an interview to the Boston Globe where she revealed that she had a lifelong dream to travel to France "to eat the baguettes, see the lavender fields, drink the wine and eat the butter." Brian decided to fulfil Jacqui’s wish as a birthday present by inviting her to a trip to southern France in the summer. It wouldn’t be long before Jacqui would cotton on to his true intentions.

Jacqui was worried about the trip being cut short

Given that the couple’s romantic getaway occurred in late June, while president Donald Trump was pushing his party to pass the Big beautiful Bill before the fourth of July, Jacqui was concerned about Brian’s ability to commit to the travel plan.

In response, Brian was resolute, and insisted on taking her to the lavender fields of Valensole no matter what. As she said to People magazine: "All the time I've known this man, he has never been desperate to see a field of flowers at dawn. So I had a feeling that [a proposal] was the goal."

The couple took a two-hour drive to Valensole

The couple first arrived at Nice and then began their long road trip at 1:30 am on Sunday, June 29. After they arrived at the lavender fields, Fitzpatrick stopped the car and asked Jacqui to walk into the fields so he could photograph her. It turned out that Fitzpatrick had already hired a photographer, and arranged for a drone, to capture the moment of the proposal.

When recounting the experience, Jacqui was ecstatic: “It was so breathtaking. The smell was just so fragrant. It's a memory that will be seared into my brain for life. It's hard to even put into words just how gorgeous it really was. It felt like a fairy tale."
