Rapper Playboi Carti — born Jordan Terrell Carter — has finally released his highly anticipated third studio album, I Am Music. After years of cryptic teasers and fan speculation, the long wait is over. The Atlanta artist, known as one of the most influential figures in contemporary rap, unveiled his latest project on Friday, March 14 — five years after first announcing the album.
I Am Music boasts a star-studded lineup with major collaborations, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Skepta, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Ty Dolla $ign, and Young Thug. With a bold 30-track lineup, the album promises an immersive experience. Though the lengthy tracklist might seem overwhelming, it reflects the years of anticipation surrounding the project.
The rapper last dropped his sophomore album, Whole Lotta Red, in 2020, featuring high-profile collaborations with Kanye West, Future, and Kid Cudi. Shortly after, he began teasing his third album, initially titled Narcissist.
Although a 2021 release date was announced, it never materialized. The following year, Carti revealed the album had been renamed Music — a title that briefly changed to I Am Music before ultimately reverting to Music.
