How did he actually get there? From being besties with Janhvi Kapoor, Nysa Devgan, and Sara Ali Khan to even posing with Kylie Jenner, Orry’s life looks like a dream.

Orry’s connections run deep and wide. He’s been spotted with the Ambanis, Bollywood royalty, and top influencers, yet there’s no official record of how he reached these circles.

Let’s start with his background. Orry’s father, Suraj Kundanlal Awatramani, is associated with multiple businesses across the liquor, hospitality, and real estate sectors. Both his parents, based in Mumbai, are registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, reflecting a strong financial and corporate background.

He studied at one of the most reputed schools, The Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai, known for its elite student base, including children of prominent business and film personalities. Other notable alumni of the school include TV anchor and comedian Cyrus Broacha, and veteran actress Durga Khote.

Moreover, actor Kiara Advani once revealed during a promotional interview for Kabir Singh, “This is Orhan Awatramani. His brother was in my class, and he was my junior in school. And this was really sweet."

Kiara and Orry both studied at The Cathedral and John Connon School and notable, Kiara’s father, Jagdeep Advani, is also a successful businessman, and Orry’s family isn’t far behind.

From Boarding School to New York to Mumbai

Orry’s educational journey has taken him across continents. He studied in a boarding school in Kodaikanal before heading to the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, where he pursued a bachelor's degree in fine arts and communication design. He later returned to Mumbai and spent some time in London too.In one of his interviews withTatler, Orry recalled his early work life: “Yes, I used to bus tables. I also did a desk job, which required me to learn Microsoft Excel. Can you believe I was working in an office from 9am to 11pm?” He also revealed having been trained in the New York social circuit.

He rose to prominence and gained widespread popularity in 2023. However, much of Orry’s public identity is carefully curated. According to Kim Sharma, Orry’s manager and executive vice president of Dharma Cornerstone Agency, his image is deliberately shrouded in mystery.

In a chat with actor and activist Kunickaa Sadanand, Kim revealed, “The mystery around Orry is a large part of the strategy that we use to build an enigma. So we never really answer questions around him. I would say, I think he's one of the most successful social experiments that have occurred in recent times. He's an extremely cerebral person, very intelligent, very targeted.”

Interestingly, Kim is also associated with Kiara Advani, creating yet another surprising link in this web of connections.

In his chat with Storyboard18, he opened up about his unusual career path, revealing that his main source of income comes from simply showing up and spreading cheer. According to him, bringing joy to people through his presence is not just a job but a mission. Attending events that make both him and others happy is what keeps him going, and for now, those very appearances are what pay the bills.
