The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4 recap: Episode 4 ofThe Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3dropped today (July 30) on Prime Video, and it was every bit as emotional as fans expected, maybe even more. This week continues the emotional fallout in a way that is both heartbreaking and provides a deeper understanding of the characters' psyches. Scroll ahead to find out everything that went down in Episode 4.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3: What has happened so far

So far, Season 3 has been a rollercoaster from the jump. Belly is trying to move on and make things right with Jeremiah after he cheated on her when they weren’t exactly “on a break.” Despite the mess, the two of them find their way back to each other, and Jeremiah ends up proposing right after Steven's accident, and they break down this news to their family at a memorial dedicated to Sussannah.

The engagement hits hard, especially with Laurel and Adam, who are far from supportive. Steven is blindsided too, and to say Conrad is devastated would be an understatement. While Belly and Jeremiah double down on the idea that they’re in love and ready, the people around them are left trying to process the speed and weight of what’s happening. From broken friendships and unresolved grief to awkward reunions, everything this season has been leading up to the emotional fallout we see unfold in Episode 4.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4 Recap

Two weeks have passed since the thunderstorm that was Episode 3, when Belly and Jeremiah dropped the engagement bomb on their families. Laurel and Adam were left reeling, Conrad was left behind at the restaurant, and now? Reality is starting to sink in.

This week, we find Belly working long hours at a local food place, juggling double shifts to save up for her wedding. Meanwhile, Jeremiah plays intern at his dad’s company—nepo baby perks in full effect. It’s Belly’s 21st birthday, and Laurel and Adam keep up their pancake tradition, treating her like the little girl they’ve always known. But when Belly asks her mom to come wedding dress shopping with her, Laurel gives her a hard no. She says she knows she can't control Belly anymore, but she also can't support something she sees as a huge mistake.

Crushed but determined, Belly pushes on. She takes Taylor and Taylor’s mom for dress shopping instead. After digging through sale racks at a local boutique, she finds a dress that feels right. But the moment is heavy. Taylor’s mom fusses over her daughter while Belly feels the absence of her own mom. Later, she breaks down and tells Jeremiah about the dress and the ache of doing it without her mother’s support. She wonders aloud how they’ll pull this wedding off when neither of their moms is on board.

Later that night, Jeremiah shows up with an Oreo cake and a surprise. He gives Belly a key to the beach house, telling her it’ll officially be hers in four weeks, even though it always has been. He also brings flowers for Laurel and asks for the talk.

Jeremiah tries to get Lau

Jeremiah tries to win Laurel over. He reminds her they’ve been together for four years, that Belly helped him survive Susannah’s death, and that this is exactly the kind of love his late mom would’ve wanted. He conveniently leaves out the cheating part. Laurel, wise and firm, isn’t moved. She still thinks they’re rushing into something they’re not ready for, and she walks away from the conversation.
Belly doesn’t take it well. She lashes out, upset that her mom would speak to Jeremiah that way. She storms out, insists she won’t be like her mother, and decides to go ahead with the wedding, with or without her. She packs up and heads to Cousins with Jeremiah.

Halfway through the episode, we finally catch up with Conrad, who’s already in Cousins. After losing his job (he couldn’t focus while his best friend was fighting for his life), he’s been off-grid. Belly and Jeremiah are lounging on the sofa when he walks in, and they're surprised to see him. Conrad brushes it off and says he’s just been offline, though he doesn't mention getting fired. He’s lined up a new job at a lab and has plans to return to Stanford soon.
Jeremiah had earlier asked Steven to be his best man and then, in typical Jeremiah fashion, wanted Conrad to be one too. He brings it up during a sail, but Conrad doesn’t hold back—he says if both sets of parents are against this wedding, maybe they have a point. “You’re being ridiculous,” he tells them. Jeremiah spins this later to Belly, and they both make fun of Conrad and dismiss the comment. Belly then gives Conrad the cold shoulder.

Later, the two lovebirds are watching a movie by the pool and still joking about Conrad’s “ridiculous” comment when he silently books his flight back. The next morning, Jeremiah heads to Boston, and Belly tells him that five days apart already feels like forever. She brings up the idea of dropping her internship to stay close to him. Jeremiah asks if she’s sure, but it’s clear this is what he wants.
Once he’s gone, Belly texts her dad to ask if he’ll walk her down the aisle, regardless of Laurel’s opinion. She heads back to her room and breaks down, sobbing over how much it would’ve meant to have her mom’s support. Conrad, bags packed and ready to leave, hears her crying. He doesn’t comfort her directly, but he makes a choice: he stays.

Conrad decides not to go back, even though he had a job lined up. Instead, he agrees to be Jeremiah’s best man. When Belly wakes up, she sees Jeremiah’s message with the news. It makes her light up. She rushes through the house looking for Conrad, and when she finds him in the kitchen, she thanks him. Conrad tells her that she and Jeremiah have known each other forever and seem truly happy. If they’re ready to commit, then that’s their choice. He even baked her dirt bombs as a belated birthday gift. When she notices, she says, “You remembered?” and he replies, “I always remember.” She hugs him tightly, and in that moment, it hits him: What have I done?

Conrad decides to stay at

Elsewhere, Laurel opens up to John about why she’s so opposed to Belly marrying young. She reveals that she got married young too and ended up losing herself in the process. It’s not about control but about protecting her daughter from repeating her mistakes.

Meanwhile, Taylor makes a big move of her own. She cancels her internship and uses that money to help pay off her mom’s debt, even though Steven offered to cover half.

It’s an emotionally packed episode full of heartbreak if you're team Conrad.
