Thammudu box office prediction day 1: Nithiin, one of Telugu cinema’s popular stars, is in the limelight because of his latest film Thammudu. The actioner hit the screens on July 4 amid much fanfare. The film has created a buzz among movie buffs as it features the actor in a new avatar and promises to offer a complete ‘theatrical experience’ to the audience. These factors are set to help it open to a good response at the Indian box office.
Thammudu, starring Nithiin, is finally out in theatres. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, the flick is set to earn Rs 8 crore in India on the first day.
“Thammudu is a story that takes place in a single day. This makes it different from a trademark routine Telugu movie. Given the uniqueness, it appears that an opening of say Rs 8 crore is on the cards,” he told Indiatimes.
The lion’s share of this is going to come from the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It may also find some patronage in Tamil Nadu, where producer Dil Raju is a known name because of Varisu. Interestingly, if this prediction holds, Thammudu will outperform the actor’s previous release Robinhood. The film had grossed Rs 2.65 crore in India on the opening day as per Sacnilk, a trade website.
According to reports in the Telugu media, the film needs to collect a share of Rs 25 crore worldwide to emerge as a ‘hit’. Robinhood had earned merely Rs 14 crore (approx) worldwide in its full run as per a report by Box Office South 2, a handle on X (formerly known as Twitter). As such, Thammudu needs to outperform Robinhood by a margin to emerge as a success.
