Veteran actor Prem Chopra was recently hospitalised, causing concern among his fans.

Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, known for his iconic villainous roles in Hindi cinema, was recently admitted to a hospital due to health-related issues. The news of his hospitalisation left fans worried about his well-being. However, recent updates from his family and close sources have brought relief, confirming that the legendary star is recovering steadily.

Why was Prem Chopra admitted to the hospital?

Prem Chopra has been hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since Saturday, November 8, after experiencing chest congestion. He has been receiving medical treatment for the past three days and is reportedly showing signs of recovery. As per an IANS report, doctors revealed that the actor was admitted due to a heart condition and a viral lung infection.

How is the veteran actor doing now?

Dr. Jalil Parker, who is part of the medical team, stated that Prem Chopra is being treated under his family cardiologist, Dr. Nitin Gokhale. He also clarified that the actor is not in the ICU but in a regular ward and is currently stable.

According to PTI, the doctor further explained, “He is 92 years old and has some age-related issues, which is why his recovery is taking a bit longer. He is expected to be fine within the next three to four days and will likely be discharged soon.”

The veteran actor’s movies

He began his cinematic journey in Punjabi films, debuting with the National Award-winning Chaudhary Karnail Singh (1960), before making a successful transition to Hindi cinema. His performance in Shaheed (1965), where he played a rare positive role, brought him early acclaim. In the years that followed, Chopra became one of Bollywood’s most sought-after antagonists, delivering powerful performances in classics such as Upkar (1967), Kati Patang (1971), Bobby (1973), and Do Anjaane (1976).

Known for his professionalism and enduring charm, Chopra continued to reinvent himself with changing times. In 2023, he appeared in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s blockbuster Animal, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, and Shakti Kapoor.
